Dr. İbrahim Naci EREN was born on July 2, 1926, in Simav. He completed his primary and secondary education in Simav, his high school education at Kütahya High School, and his medical degree at the Istanbul University Faculty of Medicine.

A devoted patriot, a lover of Simav, and a staunch advocate for education, this philanthropist later moved to the United States, where he practiced medicine for approximately 60 years. Despite his financial means, he lived a modest life and dedicated his life’s earnings — accumulated through frugality and hard work — to education and the construction of Simav Faculty of Technology. His dedication to education and the Faculty was so profound that he requested to be interred, along with his wife, within the campus bearing their name, “Dumlupınar University Simav Dr. İbrahim Naci EREN Campus.” This request was approved by a decision of the Council of Ministers. Dr. EREN passed away at his residence on October 20, 2016, at 00:30, and was laid to rest in a distinguished location within the Faculty’s courtyard.

Educational Contributions of the Philanthropist Dr. İbrahim Naci EREN to Our District

• He constructed a primary school in Hisarardı neighborhood, Simav, named after his mother, Mahmure Gülizar EREN, comprising 20 classrooms with a capacity of 500 students.

• In Muradınlar neighborhood, he funded the construction of the Müfide EREN Educational Block, consisting of 16 classrooms, for the education of students at Dumlupınar University Simav Faculty of Technology and Simav Vocational School.

• He funded a second educational block, comprising 14 classrooms, in Muradınlar neighborhood for the same institutions, bearing his own name.

• He made significant contributions to the construction of the Dean’s Office building at Dumlupınar University Simav Faculty of Technology.

• He established a 500 m² glass greenhouse for practical training of students enrolled in the Organic Agriculture Program at Simav Vocational School.

• Each year, he provided educational scholarships to support higher education students.

• In Muradınlar neighborhood, he funded the construction of the Müderris Müftü Hacı Mehmet Arif EREN Educational Block for Dumlupınar University Simav Faculty of Technology.
